The district police has completed all the preparations regarding the organization of Chamba’s International Minjar Fair, which will start from July 23. The fair will be inaugurated by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla.
Police will be guarding everything during the fair and every activity is being monitored through additional CCTV cameras and rooms. Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav told in a press conference that Chamba city has been divided into three sectors during the Minjar fair and a master plan has been prepared to maintain the traffic system including security.
He told that about 450 home guard personnel will be deployed during the fair, the superintendent of police told that people coming from outside states will also be monitored and special police personnel have been deployed at border and other places.
He said – See, during the International Minjar fair, we have divided the whole city into three sectors. One sector will be our Chaugan number one, where cultural events and sports competitions also take place. Apart from this, the second sector is our traffic and surrounding area and the third sector is our Chaugan number two, three, four, five, where other miscellaneous activities take place.
Apart from this, as far as the force is concerned, a total of 450 personnel including police personnel will be deployed. Sufficient number of CCTV cameras have been installed in Chaugan number one and also in the surrounding area. We have already installed some cameras in and around Chaugan in our town.
Apart from this, especially for this Minjar fair, we have installed 25 more CCTV cameras so that we can get information about any untoward incident. Apart from this, like every time, this time also through advance drones, Chaugan will be monitored and will be monitored through video. Apart from this, people from outside states also come to it and people from other states come to it, for proper checking and to maintain law and order, we are also setting up six nakas in Chamba district.
