While on one hand Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, on the other hand Congress Party has also made the contest exciting by giving ticket to Himachal government’s flamboyant PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh. Call it VVIP or hot seat, the people of Mandi Lok Sabha have always been with the royals. Mandi Lok Sabha was formed in the year 1952 and since then the monarchy likes this seat.

If we throw light on the MPs of Mandi parliamentary constituency, then first of all, Princess Amrit Kaur from the Congress Party in the year 1952, dictator Joginder Sen of the Mandi royal family in the year 1957, In the year 1962 as well as in 1967, General Lalit Sen of the Mandi royal family, in the year 1971, late Virbhadra Singh won the election on Congress ticket and brought the rule of Bushahr state, in the year 1977, Ganga Singh with the support of Janata Party and Jan Sangh, in the year 1980 Late Virbhadra Singh, King of Bushahr State on Congress Party ticket, in the year 1984, then the rule of Pandit Sukhram started here, in the year 1989, Maheshwar Singh was elected from the Bharatiya Janata Party, in the year 1991 as well as in 1996, Pandit Sukhram was elected on the Congress ticket. In the year 1998, once again Maheshwar Singh from the Bharatiya Janata Party, In the year 2004, Pratibha Singh, wife of the late King Virbhadra Singh of the Bushahr princely state and the current MP of Mandi parliamentary constituency, had entered the Lok Sabha. In the year 2009, the late King Virbhadra Singh of the Bushahr princely state once again went to the Parliament. Then in the year 2013, Congress once again made Pratibha Singh its candidate. In the year 2014 as well as in the year 2019, Late Ram Swaroop Sharma of Bharatiya Janata Party had become MP, But due to the tragic death of Ram Swaroop Sharma in the year 2021, Pratibha Singh once again became MP in the by-election.
