If you use CNG fuel in your vehicle and are thinking of going towards Manali, then now you will be able to go easily, because a CNG station has now started in Jheedi in Mandi district.

This is the second CNG station on the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway and the first in Mandi district. Many people use CNG in other states including Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana and Delhi. But they are not able to bring their vehicles to Himachal because there is not even the slightest facility to fill CNG here.

Rakesh Kumar, director of Harbansh Lal & Sons Filling Station Jheedi, said that many people were demanding this from him and on that basis he has started this facility. Rakesh Kumar said that apart from being a pollution-free fuel, CNG also gives more mileage. Not only does this cause no harm to the environment, it also saves money. He told that this facility is being provided 24 hours at his filling station.

Taxi drivers Prince Mehta from Ambala and Jagmohan Singh from Chandigarh told that they have made provision for dual fuel in their vehicles because they do not get the facility of CNG anywhere else except Manali on the Manali highway. Therefore, in Himachal they have to drive vehicles only with the help of petrol.

Expressing happiness over the opening of CNG station in Jheedi, he has raised the demand of the Himachal government to open more and more CNG stations on this entire highway.

The Central Government is making all efforts to promote pollution-free fuel and that is why now efforts are being made to make this facility available in maximum numbers even in a hilly state like Himachal.
