Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, March 15: The grand Dev Mahakumbh, which was going on in Chhoti Kashi Mandi for the last seven days, formally ended on Friday. After participating in the last traditional Jaleb (procession), more than 200 deities from across the district headed towards their native places. His Excellency Governor of Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla participated as the chief guest in the closing ceremony of the festival.

First of all he was made to wear a traditional turban, after which he went to the Raj Madhav Rai temple and offered prayers. After this the traditional Jaleb started. This Jaleb circumambulated the entire city via Moti Bazaar and Bhootnath Gali and ended at Paddal Maidan. A large number of devotees and local people participated in it.

Addressing the gathering present at Paddal Maidan, Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that he has participated in Shivratri Mahotsav for the first time and he has got a wonderful experience by coming here. Today the society is going through many changes and the people of Himachal are also not untouched by this, but the people here have still kept their ancient culture close to their heart, which is a matter of joy.

Shiv Pratap Shukla said that Shivratri Mahotsav is not just a fair but a festival to irrigate and preserve the roots of ancient culture. This increases mutual connection. The country successful Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also doing many things towards connecting the entire country. For rural level development, the Central Government has started many schemes, due to which the villagers are getting full benefits.

On this occasion, Shiv Pratap Shukla also patted the back of DC Mandi Apoorva Devgan and the entire team of Mandi district administration for organizing a wonderful event. The International Shivratri Festival of 2024 has officially concluded. During this period, the Saras Fair being organized will continue till March 18 and the Saja Fair at Paddal Ground till the beginning of April.
