Mandi’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Nivedita Negi said that due to the calamity, damage to houses in the district has been estimated at Rs 70 crore. Maximum number of houses have been damaged in Mandi Sadar.

The Deputy Commissioner said – If we look at the whole of this monsoon season, then there are seven hundred and ten houses in the entire Mandi district which have been completely damaged, so far the report has come to us and twelve hundred houses are internally damaged.

In this also, as you know, it rained in three spells. It rained in July when the water had increased in diameter. After that, it rained again in August between thirteenth to seventeenth August and twenty-second to twenty-fourth August. Much damage has been done.

So the total loss that we have only for the damage to the houses is about 70 crores in the whole district and if we talk about rehabilitation now, then in our relief camps they are being taken care of completely, their medical checkup etc. Staying and there is complete facility of food and drink.
