Congress is preparing to field its sitting MLA and cabinet minister Vikramaditya Singh from this seat. An important meeting of the coordination committee of senior Congress leaders of Himachal Pradesh was held in Delhi on Saturday. Committee members including Chief Minister Sukhu and Congress President Pratibha Singh were present in it. Later, in the meeting of these leaders with the national leadership of Congress, the name of Vikramaditya Singh has emerged.

The important thing is that the Congress high command has also summoned Vikramaditya Singh to Delhi and discussions have been held with him regarding fielding a candidate from Mandi Lok Sabha seat. It is believed that Congress will announce its candidates in Himachal during Navratri next week. Vikramaditya Singh had recently also attended the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. State Congress has made him election in-charge of Mandi parliamentary constituency. For the last few days, he has been targeting Kangana through his statements by making a stormy tour of Mandi.
According to party sources, in the eyes of the high command, Vikramaditya Singh is the strongest candidate in Mandi parliamentary constituency compared to Kangana Ranaut. According to the information, Vikramaditya Singh has been found to be a strong candidate in a survey conducted by Congress. By fielding 35 year old Vikramaditya Singh, Congress is also eyeing the young voters. Actually, Kangana Ranaut is 37 years old and being a celebrity, she is very popular among the youth.
Vikramaditya Singh has already said that if the high command asks him to contest the elections from Mandi Lok Sabha seat, then he will contest the elections. On the other hand, his mother and current MP Pratibha Singh has refused to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
