Senior BJP leader and former minister Ram Lal Markanda has accused the state government of doing politics even in the event of a disaster.

In a press conference in Shimla, he said that the government has made changes in the disaster manual but has fixed a time limit in it. Markanda said that Congress government is implementing TCP act in Lahaul Spiti district which is not correct.

He said that most of the houses in the district are on the banks of the river and orders have been given by the government not to build houses up to eight hundred meters on the banks of the river. He said – In the month of April the act was passed by the cabinet, your TCP act was passed in the cabinet and on June 26 and 28 the notification comes out and what is that notification?

According to this notification, no houses will be built above the river from Khaukse to Tandipur, which is two hundred to eight hundred meters and up to one thousand meters. This is the first time that Tughlaq’s decree has been issued. Till date this has not happened.

All the villages from Lahaul Spiti are situated on the banks of the river. There is no such village which is 100 meters away. Many of the panchayats I have talked to, the seven panchayats, all of them are on the banks of the river. If this Tughlaq decree which has implemented TCP is the law of the Congress government. That brother, stop this politics, don’t do this politics in the time of disaster, don’t do this BJP Congress, whatever the situation, those who have suffered losses, this relief material should reach everyone.
