Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Baijnath (Kangra), March 08: Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that permission has been granted for the expansion of Kangra Airport and the decision to provide a good relief package to the displaced people has been taken in the Cabinet by the Himachal Pradesh Government. CM Sukhu said that the expansion of Kangra Airport will also give wings to the development of the tourism capital declared for Kangra district. Accusing the Centre, CM Sukhu said that even Rs. 9043 crore for disaster relief to Himachal Pradesh has not been released, which Himachal Pradesh was to receive by the month of December.

On Friday, Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu offered Purnahuti in the Havan along with worship, grand procession and flag hoisting ceremony in the historical Shiva temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

After this, the five-day state level Shivratri Mahotsav was inaugurated at Indira Gandhi Stadium. CM Sukhu said that in order to strengthen the economic condition of farmers, Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to fix the minimum support price of wheat, maize and milk produced from cow dung.

CM Sukhu said that 90 percent of the population of Himachal Pradesh lives in villages and the Himachal government has made special provision in the budget to strengthen the rural economy. CM Sukhu said that with its results coming out in the upcoming time, farmers will earn an income of Rs 20 to 25 thousand per month.

While congratulating the people of Himachal Pradesh on International Women’s Day, CM Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh government has started Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Sukh Samman Nidhi Yojana and has started giving an honorarium of Rs 1500 to daughters and women above 18 years of age. Under this scheme, Rs. 18 thousand will be available to women every year. Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and inspected the exhibitions put up by various departments at Indira Gandhi Maidan Baijnath. CM Sukhu also laid the foundation stone and inaugurated 10 big schemes worth Rs 49.22 crore in Baijnath assembly constituency. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that Shiv Dham Baijnath Shivratri has special significance.

Earlier, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Kishori Lal welcomed Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu. In the program, Agriculture Minister Chander Kumar, AYUSH, Youth Services and Sports and Law Minister Yadvinder Goma, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Ashish Butail, Himachal Pradesh Agriculture and Rural Development Bank President Sanjay Chauhan, State Vice President of SC Cell Ravindra Bittu, BPA President Anurag. Sharma, Block Congress President Virendra Janwal, Deputy Commissioner Hemraj Bairwa, Superintendent of Police Shalini Agnihotri, government and non-government members of the Mahotsav Committee and otther dignitaries were present.
