Kalka Shimla NH-5: Taxes on commercial vehicles increased at Sanwara Toll Plaza, new rates will be applicable from this day

Tax will be collected at increased rates at Sanwara toll plaza on Kalka Shimla NH-5 from midnight of 1st April. Its notification has been issued. Fastag vehicles will benefit from the new rates. Whereas now the pass for vehicles registered in 20 kilometer area has also become expensive.

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kasauli, March 31: On Kalka-Shimla National Highway-5, toll will be charged at increased rates from midnight of April 1 at Sanwara toll plaza. It is a matter of relief that this time the prices of cars, jeeps, vans and light motor vehicles have not been increased. Whereas the prices of other commercial vehicles have been increased. It has been increased from Rs 5 to Rs 10. A notification regarding this has been issued by the National Highway Authority. At the same time, the rates are also being upgraded on the boards installed within one kilometer area of the toll plaza. The new charges will come into effect from midnight on April 1.

It is noteworthy that Sanwara toll plaza has been established by NHAI in Parwanoo-Solan four lane on Kalka Shimla NH-5. Every year, toll plaza fees become expensive in the month of April, but this time NHAI has given a big relief to the people. At the same time, the pass has also become expensive. Now registered vehicles coming within 20 kilometer area will also have to pay Rs 340. Presently the work of toll collection is being done by Riddhi-Siddhi Associates. In the coming days also the same company will do the work of toll collection. NHAI has also issued instructions to the company to update the system. Fastag vehicles will have to pay toll plaza tax at the normal rate only. Whereas, vehicles without Fastag will have to pay double fee.

These will be the new rates

  • Car, Jeep, Van and LMV fare is Rs 70 one-way and Rs 105 both ways.
  • Light commercial vehicles and others: Rs 115 one-way and Rs 170 both ways.
  • Bus and truck (two axles) Rs 240 on one side and Rs 360 on both sides.
  • Rs 260 on one side and Rs 390 on both sides of a three-axle commercial vehicle.
  • HCM,EMC,MAV Rs 375 on one side and Rs 565 on both sides.
  • Rs 455 for one side of oversized vehicle and Rs 685 for both sides.

  • One way fare for car, jeep, van and LMV is Rs 70.
  • Rs 110 for light commercial vehicle, light goods vehicle.
  • Rs 230 for bus-truck.
  • Rs 255 for three axle commercial vehicle.
  • Rs 365 for HCM,EMC,MAV.
  • Rs 440 for over sized vehicles.
