Black spots will be selected soon to prevent road accidents in Sirmaur district.
Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta has issued instructions in this regard to the officers and asked them to submit the report within fifteen days.
Talking to Diary Times, the Deputy Commissioner said that it is necessary to mark black spots to prevent road accidents. He said that the members of the committee constituted for this work would themselves visit such places and report to the district administration.
It is very important to identify the black spots. So we have formed a committee at a sub-divisional level under SDM quota and we have given directions to other SDMs as well, in which HRTC plus PWD and sub regional police officers will also be members.
So these are actually vulnerable spots, black spots, so they will be visited and identified, and the Deputy Commissioner has said that after identifying the black spots, steps will definitely be taken at such places so that road accidents can reduce.
He said that apart from installing crash barriers at such places, sign boards would also be installed so that the drivers remain alert.
