In the last one year in Himachal Pradesh, samples of 374 medicines have failed in pharma companies located in Baddi-Barotiwala and Nalagarh areas. While answering the questions of MLAs Kewal Singh Pathania, Vipin Singh Parmar and Dr. Janakraj during the Question Hour in the Assembly House on Tuesday, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil said that in cases of drug sample failure, many pharma companies have to take action. Notice has been issued. Licenses of some pharma companies have also been cancelled.

The Health Minister Dr. Dhaniram Shandil said that 38 drug controllers are working in the state to check and inspect the quality of medicines. If any pharma companies work against the rules, action is taken against them. A lab has been prepared with a cost of Rs 32 crore to test the quality of medicines, Testing lab will be inaugurated soon. He said that the government is trying to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in future. The drug controller has retired. Now another competent officer has been given the charge. Such companies will be thrown out of Himachal. On the other hand, MLA Kewal Singh Pathania was asked what steps are being taken to stop the cases of drug sample failure. MLA Vipin Singh Parmar said that more than 35 percent of medicines are manufactured in Himachal Pradesh, strict action should be taken in cases of sample failure. MLA Dr. Janakraj also raised the demand to take the cases of drug sample failure seriously.
