Shimla – Last year the monsoon had departed from Himachal Pradesh on October 3, but this time the monsoon is departing after three days on October 6. This monsoon season, the entire Himachal Pradesh has received twenty percent more rainfall than normal.
The south-west monsoon has completely departed from all parts of Himachal Pradesh on Friday. The normal date of departure of monsoon from Himachal Pradesh is considered to be 25th September, but as last year the monsoon had departed from Himachal Pradesh on 3rd October, but this year it has departed after three more days. This year, Himachal Pradesh has received twenty percent more rainfall than normal in the monsoon season. According to Himachal Pradesh Meteorological Center, Shimla, the monsoon season started in Himachal Pradesh on June 24 and the monsoon season covered the entire Himachal Pradesh.
Himachal Pradesh Monsoon Season: From June to September this year, the state of Himachal Pradesh has received 884.8 mm rainfall.
Himachal Pradesh has recorded 734.4 normal rainfall during this year period. In Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains have been recorded at different places in Kangra, Hamirpur, Chamba, Una, Bilaspur, Sirmaur, Mandi districts. The highest rainfall of 1314.6 km was recorded in Himachal Pradesh in 1922. But this year, the monsoon season had ended on October 1 in the six main districts of Himachal Pradesh, Kangra, Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Solan, Sirmaur, but Kullu, Kinnaur, Lahaul-Spiti, Chamba and all the upper parts of Mandi and Shimla. Monsoon is leaving the areas on 6th October.

Post monsoon season has started in Himachal Pradesh. The weather will remain clear in entire Himachal Pradesh till October 7, after which there is every possibility of a fresh western disturbance becoming active on the night of October 8. Due to the effect of active Western Disturbance, there is a continuous possibility of rain in many plains, central and high mountain areas of Himachal on October 9 and 10. Due to thunderstorm in some plains and hilly areas of Himachal Pradesh on October 9, a yellow alert has also been issued in those areas. There is a possibility of clear weather on 11th and 12th October.
