Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 02:  A sensational case of murder of a 38 year old youth and burning his dead body has come to light in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The people of the village are accused of beating the young man to death on suspicion of theft. After this, the body of the young man was burnt to destroy the evidence. The deceased youth used to work as a laborer with a family in the village. 10 days after the incident, the police registered a case of murder on the complaint of the mother of the deceased youth. The entire incident took place in Panesh area of Boileauganj police station area of Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh.

Tara Devi, a resident of Bajhol, Sunni, adjacent to Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh, said in the complaint lodged with the police that her son Tikamchand used to work as a laborer in Sevanand’s house in village Kharyad adjacent to Panesh for the last eight-nine years. On March 22, Sevanand’s wife Prabha called her and informed her that her son Tikamchand had died due to a fall and the body had been cremated. According to the complainant, Sevanand’s wife Prabha was told that her son Tikamchand had committed theft in the temple and had died due to a fall.

Tara Devi, the mother of the deceased, told the Boileauganj police that she came to know from the local people that on March 21, her son Tikamchand had gone to Shitala Mata temple, where the people of the village beat Tikamchand badly on the suspicion of theft and after his death, the dead body was thrown and Burnt down. SP Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi said on Tuesday that a case has been registered regarding this incident under sections 302, 201 and 202 of IPC and action is being taken. No one has been detained yet. All aspects are being thoroughly investigated.
