There will be an increase in the amount of property tax and garbage bill in the capital Shimla from April 1. It is proposed to increase the amount of garbage by about 10 percent. It is believed that the property tax rate is certain to increase by eight percent. It has also been decided to increase the garbage rate by 10 percent. It is implemented every year. At the same time, Municipal Corporation Shimla has also taken action against illegal construction in Shimla city. Municipal Corporation Shimla has given instructions to demolish illegal constructions in Shimla city. Recently, Municipal Corporation Shimla has ordered removal of 10 illegal constructions in Shimla city.

Municipal Corporation Shimla Commissioner Bhupender Kumar Attri said that there has been no separate increase in property tax and garbage bill. It has already been passed in the Municipal Corporation Shimla House that garbage bills will be increased by 10% every year. Due to which the salaries of the employees of every society will increase by the same amount. This is a routine process and there has been no additional increase in garbage bills. There is property tax which has increased by eight percent this time. This is not a new increase. Last year the bills were not made. Due to this, there will be an increase of eight percent between last and this year. It is already decided that property tax should be increased by 4% every year, no such decision has been taken in the budget.

Regarding illegal construction in Shimla city, Municipal Corporation Shimla Commissioner Bhupender Kumar Attri said that there are about 1400 cases in Municipal Corporation Shimla due to bypassing of rules. These cases are heard every Saturday in the Municipal Corporation Court. Recently, on Saturday, instructions have been given to demolish 10 illegal constructions in Shimla city. Illegal constructions will not be allowed to be built in Shimla city. These cases are old cases. Bhupender Kumar Attri said that now whenever any case of illegal construction comes up in Shimla city, notice is given to that building owner within 24 hours. If the building is illegal then immediate orders are given to demolish it.
