Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Nahan, April 30: A heart-wrenching case has come to light from Paonta Sahib sub-division of Sirmour district of Himachal Pradesh.Here, due to failure in the results of class 12th released by Himachal Pradesh School Education Board in the second consecutive attempt and due to family pressure, a student has ended his golden future by hanging himself. The entire incident took place in Surajpur on Tuesday afternoon, where the student committed suicide by hanging himself in the room of his own house.

As soon as the information about the suicide was received from Surajpur, the team of Paonta Sahib police station reached the spot and thoroughly investigated the student’s room and when the suicide note was not recovered, the student was brought down from the noose with the help of local and family members and sent to Paonta Sahib Hospital by ambulance for postmortem.

The bereaved family told the police station in-charge that after the results of the board exams were released on Monday, 18-year-old student Rohit was under a lot of mental stress after failing in his second attempt in a row.

Even after a thorough investigation, when the team of Paonta Sahib Police Station did not receive the suicide note, the police in-charge recorded only the statements of the bereaved family. Paonta Sahib Police has believed that Rohit, an eighteen year old student of Government Senior Secondary School, Puruwala, has committed suicide due to mental stress after failing in the board exams for the second consecutive time.

On the other hand, Paonta Sahib Police DSP Aditi Singh, while giving information about the entire incident, said that Rohit, an eighteen-year-old student of Government Senior Secondary School, Puruwala, has committed suicide in the room of his own house in Surajpur.She also told that as per the statements of the bereaved family, Rohit was suffering from mental depression after the results of the board exams and on Tuesday afternoon, Rohit committed suicide by hanging himself.DSP Aditi Singh said that Paonta Sahib police has not left the spot and forensic team has also been called on the spot.He told that the situation will become more clear only after the postmortem reports of Rohit come, but right now Rohit’s postmortem is going on in Paonta Sahib Hospital.
