Woman Commits Suicide In Forest
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kullu, April 03: A woman has committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree in the forest adjacent to Kared in Banjar subdivision of Kullu district. According to the information, the woman committed suicide by going to the forest and tying a rope to the branch of a Kayal tree. As soon as the information was received, the police took the body into their custody. No suicide note of any kind has been found on the spot. Nor were any injury marks found anywhere else on the woman’s body. The police have also taken statements from the woman’s maternal side.

The deceased woman has been identified as Deepa Devi (22), wife of Hukam Chand, resident of Kared Post Office and Tehsil Banjar, District Kullu.

Why the woman took this step is not yet known. Police have brought the body to Banjar Hospital for post-mortem, where after post-mortem the body will be handed over to the family members.
