Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Kullu, April 09: Kullu District Police team has arrested two youths from Kangra and Kullu on charges of chitta smuggling. According to the information, the police team of Bhuntar police station has arrested two youths with a consignment of chittas during the blockade near Gadsa bridge near Bajaura.

SP Kullu Dr. Karthikeyan Gokulchandran said that this action has been implemented by Bhuntar police station and Kullu police.

Dr. Karthikeyan Gokulchandran said that in the first case, during the blockade, the Bhuntar police team has recovered 9 grams of chitta from the possession of Akshit Kaushik (26), son of Vijay Kaushik, resident of village and post office Thural, district Kangra.

Similarly, in the second case, the team of Kullu Police Station, during patrolling, on the basis of secret information near Talogi, recovered 6.84 grams of Chitta from the possession of Jagdish (33), son of Tej Ram, resident of Nangcha Post Office Bandrole Tehsil Kullu.

SP Karthikeyan Gokulchandran said that the police have taken Chitta into their custody and arrested both the accused. He said that a case has been registered under the NDPS Act and investigation has been started. The process of presenting both the persons in the court has been started.
