An important decision has been taken by the Himachal Pradesh Government to completely lift the ban on the batchwise recruitment process on four hundred and ninety-four posts of Shastri teachers. Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Elementary Education has issued a notification to all the district officers to complete the entire counseling process within fifteen days. However, there will be a complete stay on the release of results till the decision on the entire case pending in the Himachal Pradesh High Court on the posts of 494 Shastri teachers is given.

All the candidates who have participated in the counseling process which was completed till 17th November, are not going to be called for the counseling process again. The batchwise recruitment process of Shastri’s four hundred and ninety-fourth posts was postponed with immediate effect on November 17. The counseling process was stopped by the Himachal Pradesh Directorate of Elementary Education due to continuous objections on the recruitment rules for Shastri’s posts. After discussion with Himachal Pradesh Government, an important decision has been taken to restart the counseling process of Shastri teachers. The complete schedule was released in the month of November itself for the batchwise recruitment process on vacant Shastri posts in the government schools of Himachal Pradesh.

It was also demanded by the unemployed Shastri degree holders that the entire recruitment process should be done considering only Shastri degree holders as eligible as per the old rules. Regarding this matter, a huge demonstration was also held by unemployed Shastri degree holders in front of the main gate of Himachal Pradesh Higher Education Directorate, capital Shimla. Unemployed people who had studied Sanskrit in B.Ed and BA had also lodged objections regarding their demands.
