In Himachal Pradesh, model schools will be created by merging all the schools with less number of students within a radius of ten to fifteen kilometers. After getting the approval of Himachal Pradesh Cabinet, the Education Department has started preparing for the formation of Center of Excellence schools. A list of all the schools to be merged has been sought from all the district deputy directors by the end of November.
Teachers will also be appointed for every subject along with modern facilities in all model schools. Himachal Pradesh Government’s Education Minister Rohit Thakur told Diary Times correspondent Kumud Sharma that the Himachal Pradesh Government is making continuous efforts to provide qualitative education throughout Himachal Pradesh. Rohit Thakur also said that Himachal Pradesh government is continuously working actively on many important schemes regarding education reform.
Under which, under the Right to Education Act in Himachal Pradesh, all the schools opened at short distances and all the vacant posts of new teachers have been considered as the main reason for the decline in the level of education in Himachal Pradesh.
Recently, in the meeting held at Himachal Pradesh State Secretariat, the most important decision of ending the practice of opening new schools under the Himachal Pradesh Education Department has been taken.
Under this, it has also been decided that by merging all the pre-primary schools falling within a radius of ten to fifteen kilometers in Himachal Pradesh, a single model school up to class 12th will be opened.
Fresh teachers will also be appointed for all types of subjects in the new model schools. Under which all the facilities for studies will also be provided to all the children.
Special guidelines have been issued to all the District Deputy Directors of Himachal Pradesh to identify and hand over all such schools in all the districts within a month.
Departmental officers of all the twelve districts in Himachal Pradesh told in the review meeting that due to less number of children in schools in Himachal Pradesh, the continuously increasing expenses of the Himachal Pradesh government can be easily reduced by implementing this new system.
