Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 18: Nine BJP MLAs responded to the notice to Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania on Monday. BJP MLAs, in response, said that when 15 members had already been suspended from the House meeting, there was no justification in sending notices to nine MLAs again. Since the matter pertains to the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania, he himself cannot take a decision on it. The MLAs have argued that contempt action cannot be taken against them. Many arguments were given in this regard.

Before filing the reply, a meeting of the BJP legislature party was held in the assembly premises under the chairmanship of Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur. In this, the reply of 13 pages was read and necessary amendments were made in it. This reply was presented before Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania in the afternoon. Actually, Congress MLA from Nahan Ajay Solanki had given a complaint of contempt before Pathania. In this notice issued by State Assembly Secretary Yashpal Sharma, all nine BJP MLAs were given time till March 18 to respond.

Eight out of nine MLAs Vinod Kumar, Hansraj, Surender Shourie, Satpal Singh Satti, Vipin Singh Parmar, Deepraj, Lokendra Kumar and Inder Singh Gandhi appeared before the Speaker. BJP MLA Trilok Jamwal himself did not come, but one of his representatives appeared. Congress MLA Ajay Solanki is accused of disrupting the assembly proceedings and making objectionable remarks and slogans against the chair. This is contempt of the rules of the House. On this, on the instructions of the Assembly Speaker, the Secretary had issued contempt notices to these MLAs and sought their answers.
