An important decision has been given by the Himachal Pradesh High Court on the petitions filed by 40 hydro power companies. Rajneesh Maniktala, senior lawyer of Himachal Pradesh High Court has given this information.

According to senior lawyer Rajneesh Maniktala, Himachal Pradesh High Court has declared the formation of Water Cess Commission as beyond the jurisdiction of the State Assembly.

Division bench of Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan and Justice Satyen Vaidya has given this decision.

Let us tell you that the state government had imposed water cess on the ongoing power projects in Himachal Pradesh.

Sukhu government had a target of revenue of Rs 2500 crore from water cess. Sukhu government can now challenge the decision in the Supreme Court.
