Shimla News- Open heart surgery facility will be available in Tanda Medical College.
The facility of open heart surgery will start in Doctor Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda from September 25.
Health Minister Colonel Dhaniram Shandil said in Shimla that a heart surgery center has been established in Tanda Medical College.
He said that open heart surgery center will be established here.
Specialist doctors of Atal Institute of Super Specialties, Shimla will also cooperate in starting the surgery facility.
He said that with the establishment of heart surgery center in Tanda Medical College, people especially from the lower areas of the state will get high level health facilities close to their homes.
The Health Minister said that Himachal Pradesh is one of the few states in the country to have started the facility of open heart surgery in the government sector.
He said that the facility of open heart surgery has been available in IGMC Shimla since the year 2005.
Twenty to twenty-five open heart surgeries are being performed every month and its success rate is more than ninety-five percent.
The Health Minister also said that free heart-related treatment facilities are available to eligible patients of all age groups under various schemes.
He said that so far open heart surgery has been done on more than four thousand patients in Shimla from IGMC.
