Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 06: Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, inaugurated 22 new branches of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank on Wednesday. CM Sukhu also launched two new schemes of the State Cooperative Bank ‘One Time Settlement Scheme’ and ‘Loan Scheme for Developing High Density Apple Orchards’.

New branches of the State Cooperative Bank include Samarkot, Jharag/Nakradi, Parala, Dhamandri, Mehndali, Jarol, Janehdghat, Upper Kathu, Khatnol, Nihri, Chai Ka Dora, Syanj, Bharadi, Mandap, Dhar-Totoh, Lohat, Awah, Chhatradi, Halah, Haripurdhar, Timbi and Chango.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that through the One Time Solution Scheme, the defaulter loan holders of the State Cooperative Bank, who due to some reasons could not repay their due loans on time and whose loan accounts will be declared D-1 Category of NPA by the State Cooperative Bank on December 31, 2023, All such defaulting loan holders who have been registered under the One Time Settlement Scheme will be eligible for settlement of their loans by entering into a lump sum settlement with the State Cooperative Bank under the One Time Settlement Scheme.

Gardeners of the state will get loan facility: CM Sukhu

CM Sukhu said that under the loan scheme for developing high density apple orchards, a loan facility of Rs 8 lakh per bigha will be provided to the gardeners of Himachal Pradesh for promotion of new technology in high density apple plantation and production of new varieties. Under the ‘Loan Scheme for Developing High Density Apple Orchards’, a maximum loan of Rs 50 lakh will be provided to the loan holder.

CM Sukhu said that Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank has an important role in the development of the state. CM said that Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank Sapno Ka Sanchay-Deposit Linked Savings Deposit Scheme and Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme have yielded meaningful results. Under the Sashakt Mahila Loan Scheme, loans worth more than Rs 35 crore have so far been provided to 16,836 women borrowers.

Expressing his gratitude to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Chairman of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, Devindra Shyam, said that with the opening of new branches, the facility of banking services will be available to all sections of the society at their doorstep. Devindra Shyam said that the one-time settlement scheme will provide delinquent loan holders an opportunity to improve their financial portfolio. The borrower who pays his loan settlement amount in lump sum will also be given 0.5 additional interest rebate as an incentive.

Managing Director of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank, Shravan Manta gave information about various activities of the bank.

On this occasion, Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi, Chief Parliamentary Secretary Mohan Lal Brakta, MLAs Harish Janartha, Malendra Rajan and Neeraj Nayyar, Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap, Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi, Director Information and Public Relations Rajiv Kumar and Senior officials of Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank were present.
