Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Saturday inaugurated the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center built at a cost of Rs 11 crore at Shoghi in Shimla district.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Shoghi Science Learning and Creation Center (CSLC), 100% funded by the Government of Himachal Pradesh, is bringing an unprecedented revolution in the center of science education as well as improving the quality of students, especially in the rural areas of Himachal Pradesh. It is going to prove to be a boon for him.

Shoghi Center for Science Learning and Creation, a state-of-the-art institute, has been developed under the joint aegis of HIMCOSTE and National Council of Science Museums (NCSM). Its institutional segments include 60 interactive science learning exhibitions, theme-wise galleries and all-informatics exhibitions.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the operation of a modern planetarium at Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center will be completed by the end of 2024, which will prove helpful in promoting astronomical education in the planetarium. Chief Minister Sukhu, while observing all the exhibitions displayed at the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Centre, said that the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center will present the commitment of the Himachal Pradesh government to promote the culture of new ideas and innovation in the entire Himachal Pradesh.

After laying the foundation stone of Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center in 2014, the entire project has been given concrete shape in 2023. CM Sukhu said that former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi is considered the father of information technology and communication revolution in India. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that due to the efforts of late Rajiv Gandhi, India is continuously progressing in the field of information technology. Chief Minister Sukhu said that today India has an important place at the global level in the field of information technology.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the students of Himachal Pradesh will no longer need to go outside the state of Himachal Pradesh to study and experience science. To showcase the achievements of all the leading scientists of India, a Hall of Fame exhibition has been established in the Shoghi Science and Learning Center and in addition, a library and a YouTube studio have also been built in the Shoghi Science and Learning Center.

A hostel for students and teachers has also been constructed at the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Centre, due to which people from remote and tribal areas of Himachal Pradesh will be able to participate in all science related activities. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Himachal Pradesh government is continuously bringing important changes in the field of education, positive results of which will soon start emerging. The Government of Himachal Pradesh is continuously working towards making Himachal Pradesh the top state of India in the field of education. Himachal Pradesh Government is continuously working towards making Himachal Pradesh self-reliant in the coming four years and making Himachal Pradesh the most prosperous state of India in the coming ten years.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said that the Himachal Pradesh government is soon going to implement important changes in the field of education which will continuously bring positive results in the field of education in Himachal Pradesh.

CM Sukhu said that the main objective of the Himachal Pradesh government is to take Himachal Pradesh on the path of continuous development and progress. In the quiz competition, St. Luke’s School, Solan District got the first position, while Government Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla got the second position and JCB Public School got the third position.

In the painting competition, under the senior category, Prerna, a student of Government Model Girls Senior Secondary School, Portmore, got the first position, while Shreya Katoch of St. Luke’s School, Solan district, got the second position and Navya Sohni and Ishita Sharma of St. Luke’s School, Solan district jointly got the first position Got third place.

In the junior category painting competition, Abhishek Kumar of Government Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla, got the first position, while Luv Chauhan of Government Senior Secondary School, Chhota Shimla, got the second position and Dhanvi of St. Luke’s School, Solan district, got the third position.

Himachal Pradesh Government’s Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh expressed his gratitude to the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for opening the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center of Shimla Rural Assembly and said that the Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center will help the youth of Himachal Pradesh. It will play an important role in nurturing the scientific talent of students and promoting their curiosity towards science studies.

Himachal Pradesh Government’s Public Works Minister Vikramaditya Singh said that to better understand the science subject, a system of practical and experience-based education is needed along with bookish knowledge. Himachal Pradesh Chief Secretary Prabodh Saxena said that this program is to realize the vision of former Prime Ministers Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and Indira Gandhi to promote science in modern India. Vikramaditya Singh said that Shoghi Science Study and Creation Center will prove to be a major center of attraction for tourists also.

In the program, Himachal Pradesh Government Special Secretary Revenue DC Rana welcomed the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and provided complete information about the features of Shoghi Science Study and Creation Centre. On this occasion, Haminder Gujral, Zonal Head, ICICI Bank, in collaboration with ICICI Bank Foundation, presented Himachal Pradesh Rural Connectivity Facility with 4 Gurkha vehicles and 4 Bolero campers to enhance the capacities of Himachal Pradesh Disaster Management Authority in Kullu and Mandi districts of Himachal Pradesh. Presented a letter to the Honorable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu for the construction of twenty feet overbridge for Rs.

ICICI Bank also handed over 2 Gurkha vehicles for Shimla district and one hearse for Kangra district to Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu.

Also, ICICI Bank provided one kilowatt off-grid solar panels each to two border villages of Lahaul Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh, which will ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity in Lahaul Spiti district.

On the occasion of the program of Shoghi Science Study and Creation Centre, Chief Executive Officer of Sharanagat Construction Company Rajesh Gupta and Director Hemant Popli also presented a check of Rs 5 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund of Himachal Pradesh. Also, Additional Secretary of Environment and Science Satpal Dhiman, Vice Chancellor of Shoolini University Professor PK Khosla and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
