Himachal News: Central Government Releases Grant Of Rs 259 Crore To Himachal Pradesh Under Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan

A grant of Rs. 259 crore has been released to Himachal Pradesh under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) by the Central Government. Under the third installment of financial year 2023-24, an amount of Rs 259 crore was released by the Central Government.

Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 10: A grant of Rs. 259 crore has been released to Himachal Pradesh under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) by the Central Government. Under the third installment of financial year 2023-24, an amount of Rs 259 crore was released by the Central Government. Himachal Pradesh had not received this budget for a long time. Rajesh Sharma, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, had raised the demand of releasing this budget at the time of Union Education Ministry.

Before the end of the financial year, a demand was raised by Rajesh Sharma, State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, to release a budget of Rs 259 crore so that the departments can run routine tasks and training programs in a better way. This budget has now been released by the Central Government. This grant has been issued under General, SC, ST component. This grant will be spent on salaries of vocational teachers, teachers’ training, school books, infrastructure grants, sports grants and other items.

Know how much budget was received under which item –

According to SSA officials, Himachal Pradesh has received a grant of Rs 92 crore, 18 lakh 32 thousand from the Central Government under the General Component. In the budget, Rs. 54.13 crore will be spent on the elementary education department, Rs. 35.97 crore will be spent on secondary education and Rs 35.97 crore will be spent on teacher training.

Similarly, under SC component, a total budget of Rs 36 crore, 89 lakh, 28 thousand has been released by the Central Government. Of this, Rs 22 crore 14 lakh will be spent on primary, Rs 13 crore 86 lakh on secondary and Rs 8 crore 8 lakh will be spent on teacher training.

Under the ST component, a budget of Rs 7 crore 99 lakh 26 thousand has been released by the Central Government. Under this, a budget of Rs 4 crore 59 lakh 34 thousand has been released to the Elementary Education Department, Rs 3 crore 22 lakh 11 thousand to the Secondary Education Department and Rs 1 crore 7 lakh 81 thousand has been released for teacher training. A budget of Rs 8 crore 8 lakh 29 thousand has been released for other works under SC component.
