Himachal: Municipal Corporation Shimla Took The Initiative To Clean The Forests, Started Cleaning Campaign With School Children.

Now the Municipal Corporation has started a campaign to clean the garbage from the forests, in which local people along with school children are being included. On Saturday, a cleanliness drive was conducted from Navbahar to Raj Bhavan, in which the mayor, deputy mayor along with students of St. Thomas School, councilors and local people picked up the garbage lying in the forests and during this, two big tippers collected about four tons of garbage.

During this time, school students appealed to the city residents and tourists not to throw garbage in the forests of the city. Students said that it is a matter of great shame that people are throwing liquor bottles and packets of chips openly in the forests and are also harming the environment. Shimla city belongs to everyone and it is everyone’s responsibility to keep it clean. People themselves should come forward and clean up and should not throw garbage in the forests.

Municipal Corporation Mayor Surender Chauhan said that a campaign to clean the forests of the city has been started and today this campaign has been carried out till Raj Bhavan in which school children along with cleaning workers and local people have participated. He said that people throw garbage openly in the forests of the city, which is causing harm to the environment and is also a stain on the beauty.
Mayor Surendra Chauhan said that the cleaning workers do the cleaning but to ensure people’s participation in it, this cleaning campaign is being run with school children and local people. In the coming days also, the garbage lying in the forests will be cleaned by visiting different parts of the city.
