Himachal High Court – Sought Reply From Himachal Government Within Four Weeks on Lack of Infrastructure in Colleges.
Himachal Pradesh High Court has taken strict action against the lack of infrastructure in all the degree colleges in the state of Himachal Pradesh. The judicial division bench of Chief Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Sandeep Sharma has summoned the information of all the degree colleges of the Himachal Pradesh government.

Taking strict action against the lack of infrastructure in all the degree colleges of Himachal Pradesh, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has asked the Chief Judicial Division Bench of Chief Justice Vivek Singh Thakur and Sandeep Sharma to summon the information and detailed report of all the degree colleges of Himachal Pradesh from the Himachal Pradesh Government. Four weeks time has been given for this. The Himachal Pradesh High Court court has fixed November 21 for the next hearing of the case.
The court of Himachal Pradesh High Court has said in its orders that for the disposal of the petition, information about all the degree colleges of Himachal Pradesh has been asked to be presented before the court through an affidavit, the main information.
Himachal Pradesh High Court has ordered the Himachal Pradesh Government to provide details of teachers in all degree colleges of Himachal Pradesh, information about construction of buildings, information about basic infrastructure in all degree colleges of Himachal Pradesh, and information about degree colleges in Himachal Pradesh.
Orders have been issued to submit information about budget allocation through an affidavit. Himachal Pradesh High Court told Himachal Pradesh Government that if any deficiency has to be removed in any degree colleges, then the proposed time for the same should also be informed to Himachal Pradesh High Court through an affidavit.
On June 21, 2019, the Himachal Pradesh High Court had taken cognizance of the letter written in the name of the Chief Justice presented by the students of degree colleges.
With the intervention of Himachal Pradesh High Court, the building construction work of Fine Arts College was asked to be expedited. Himachal Pradesh High Court had said in all its orders that the letter written by the students cannot be called a complaint. All the students had demanded basic infrastructure of the Fine Arts College, which the Himachal Pradesh government has failed miserably to fulfill.
Jawaharlal Nehru College of Fine Arts, Shimla, named after the first Prime Minister of India, is the only government institution in Himachal Pradesh. Jawahar Lal Nehru College of Fine Arts trains all the youth with potential in performing and fine arts.
After the establishment of Jawaharlal Nehru College of Fine Arts in June 2015, the existence of this college is mainly being run jointly in the campus of Rajiv Gandhi College Chaura Maidan. However, a large college campus for Jawaharlal Nehru College of Fine Arts is under construction at Luharb in Banuti. This college was established by the Government of Himachal Pradesh to provide specialized training in the arts and to provide relevant degrees in the arts.
