Pensioners Will Get Arrears In Himachal From The Month Of March
Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, March 13: Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu Government of Himachal Pradesh has issued a notification to the pensioners for payment of arrears of the revised pay scale as per the recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission. The state government has adopted new criteria for payment of arrears. For this pensioners age has been taken as the basis. The payment of arrears is categorized according to the age of the pensioners.
In the notification, the installment of arrears to be received by pensioners in the month of March will be decided according to their age. It has been clarified in the notification that in the month of March, 15 percent of the arrears will be paid to pensioners below 65 years of age. Apart from this, 18 percent arrears will be paid to pensioners in the age group of 65 to 70 years, 20 percent to pensioners in the age group of 70 to 75 years and 35 percent arrears will be paid to pensioners in the age group of 75 and above.

Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh Pensioner Welfare Association has welcomed the new notification regarding arrears. Welfare Association said that by this criteria the pensioners will get a respectable amount from the arrear payment. He has also demanded the Sukhu government to immediately notify the pending DA and gratuity of pensioners.

Let us tell you that earlier the state government had issued a notification regarding arrear payment. Under which there was a provision to pay three percent of the arrears to the pensioners in a year, whereas it would take 33 years to pay the entire arrears. But due to opposition from pensioners and employees, the state government withdrew that notification.
