Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Shimla, April 01: All three independent MLAs of Himachal Pradesh will approach Himachal Pradesh High Court on their resignation. MLAs Ashish Sharma from Hamirpur, Hoshyar Singh from Dehra and KL Thakur from Nalagarh will file a petition in the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday if their resignations are not accepted. All three independent MLAs had submitted their resignations to Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania 10 days ago.

Since Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has not yet accepted the resignation, the three independent MLAs will seek intervention from the Himachal Pradesh High Court to get their resignation accepted. On March 22, all three independent MLAs first submitted their resignation to the Himachal Pradesh Assembly Secretary. Later, the three independent MLAs met Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and made a personal request to accept their resignations. After this, the three independent MLAs also met His Excellency Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla. The next day, on March 23, all three independent MLAs went to New Delhi and joined BJP. Independent MLA Hoshyar Singh said on Monday that if the resignation is not accepted, a petition will be filed in the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Tuesday.

Let us inform that two cabinet ministers of Sukhu government, Jagat Singh Negi and Rohit Thakur, have complained to Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania regarding the resignation of the three independent MLAs. It has been said in the complaint that the independent MLAs who were elected for five years are resigning within 15 months. It seems that there is some pressure on these three independent MLAs. On this, Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania has sent a notice to the independent MLAs asking them to present their stand on April 10. In such a situation, there is confusion among the three independent MLAs due to the resignation not being accepted.

At the same time, in this matter, Governor of the Himachal Pradesh Shiv Pratap Shukla has put the ball in the court of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and has considered him the only one authorized for this. Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla says that this is the jurisdiction of Himachal Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania and he cannot interfere in this matter.

When the resignation was not accepted, the three independent MLAs had expressed their protest by staging a dharna in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly complex two days ago.
