Rajinder Rana, who joined BJP, has been made the party candidate for the by-election. In such a situation, Captain Ranjit Singh Rana has said that he will contest the elections as an independent candidate. Captain Ranjit Singh Rana has made this announcement after giving BJP ticket to Rajinder Rana. In the 2022 assembly elections, Captain Ranjit Singh Rana lost by 399 votes. Ranjit Rana is considered close to former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.

It was only after Dhumal’s refusal to contest the elections that the party fielded Ranjit Singh Rana in the elections in the year 2022. In such a situation, now a section of BJP has revolted after Rajinder Rana was made the party candidate. Ranjit Singh Rana said that he will organize a big meeting with supporters soon. Keeping in mind the public sentiments of the people of the area, he has taken this decision. In the Lok Sabha elections, the party candidate will try to make Union Minister Anurag Singh Thakur victorious but in the by-elections he will contest as an independent candidate. Rana said that he will get full support from the public in Sujanpur, an area dominated by soldiers and ex-servicemen.
