Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Mandi, March 25: One person has been burnt to death in a fire that broke out due to leakage in a gas cylinder in Dohag in Jogindernagar sub-division of Mandi district. At the same time, five saved their lives by running away. The accident occurred when food was being prepared for hospitality as part of the function. Then suddenly a fire broke out in the cylinder.

During this time, five people including three women present in the kitchen ran out. While trying to control the fire that broke out in a gas cylinder, a person’s leg and arm got burnt. This incident of fire is said to have happened around 10 am on Monday morning.

Preparations were going on for lunch for the guests due to a program at the Dohag residence of Madho Ram, who retired from the electricity department, about four kilometers from Jogindernagar city of Mandi district, when suddenly a fire broke out in a gas cylinder present in the kitchen And the fire spread to the surrounding rooms also.

During this time, Kehar Singh, who was present in the house, risked his life and took out the burning gas cylinder from the kitchen. The crowd gathered at the spot somehow succeeded in extinguishing the fire of the gas cylinder. Information was given to the fire department. The fire was brought under control before the fire brigade team reached the spot.

Tehsildar Jogindernagar Dr. Mukul Sharma, while confirming the fire incident that took place in Dohag on Monday morning, said that orders have been issued to the Revenue Department team to inspect the incident site and assess the damage.

Police station in-charge Ashwani Kumar said that the police have inspected the incident site and collected evidence. Investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
