Reported & Written By Kumud Sharma, Diary Times, Sirmour, April 09: The famous Bala Sundari Chaitra Navratri fair of North India has formally started on Tuesday. This fair will be organized with great pomp and show till 23rd April 2024. On the occasion of the inauguration of the first Navratri of the fair, Deputy Commissioner Sirmour Sumit Khimta offered prayers at Mata Bala Sundari Temple on Tuesday and participated in the Havan-Yagya. Additional District Magistrate LR Verma, Tehsildar Upendra Chauhan and other officials of the temple were also present on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner Sirmour Sumit Khimta said that special care is being taken for the facilities of lakhs of devotees coming here on the occasion of Mata Bala Sundari Chaitra Navratri Fair to be organized from April 9 to April 23. He said that in view of the summer, adequate quantity of drinking water has been arranged for the devotees. Special attention has also been paid to cleanliness in the fair complex area. Apart from this, proper accommodation facilities have also been provided for the stay of the devotees.

Sumit Khimta said that Mata Bala Sundari Temple is a famous religious place of North India, every year lakhs of devotees come here to pay obeisance during Navratri. He said that the effort of the district administration and the fair committee is to provide proper facilities to all the devotees for which all necessary arrangements have been made.

Deputy Commissioner Sumit Khimta said that strict arrangements have been made for the security of lakhs of devotees coming on the occasion of the fair. He said that about 450 personnel have been deployed for security, which includes police and home guard personnel.

On the occasion of Mata Bala Sundari Fair, apart from the major Bhadaras being set up in the fair premises, arrangements for distribution of small Prasad and drinking water etc. have also been made by the devotees at various places. Devotees coming to the fair are taking prasad from these Bhadaras.

On the first day of Maa Durga Navratri, the entire Trilokpur area was seen in devotion to Mata Balasundari. Thousands of devotees carrying the flag of Maa Durga in their hands are reaching the temple for darshan without getting tired and without stopping, chanting the praises of Maa Balasundari with devotion. Earlier, with the opening of the temple this morning on the auspicious occasion of the first Navratri, devotees were seen queuing up to have the darshan of the Mother Goddess.
