Woman empowerment is one of the most important changes in today’s world. The word has a larger meaning and an even bigger impact. Women empowerment is to make every woman aware of her self-worth and right to choose for herself. Woman empowerment is about the distribution of rights equally among both genders. The right to education, the right to work, and the right to make her own decisions. Woman empowerment is the removal of biased aspects present in society based on gender.

HISTORY

This unequal behavior due to gender is present for centuries in society. Earlier women were not allowed to be educated, not allowed to do any job, were not allowed to have dreams or wishes, or even not allowed to make decisions for themselves. There were many barriers like poverty, child marriage, gender-based violence, religion, caste, and many more. It took ages for people to accept that even women have the right to education. India got its right to education act for women in 2001.

The fight to provide women with their basic rights had been very long and tough. But with time changes are taking place to make this world equally better and opportunistic for women. Modern-day India has overcome various barriers like child marriage, sathi paratha, and female feticide. With time, various people’s efforts and various government schemes have led to improving society for women.

CHANGES
