The gods and goddesses who come to the fair have their own rules and regulations, which have been followed for centuries. Similar rule also applies to the worshipable deity of Nankhadi, Sahib Palthan Sholi. In Rampur area, Sholi is such a god that whenever he goes out of the temple, firing takes place at various places as his caravan moves forward. On Tuesday, when Devta Sholi was going to attend the Phag fair, as per the rules, Devta ordered firing outside the police station Rampur, but due to the election model code of conduct, the police administration prohibited firing.

What happened next, the deity stopped here and did not move forward from here even after several requests from the police and the fair committee. The police administration and the fair committee tried their best to calm down the tense atmosphere on the spot, but due to no firing, the deities did not move forward from here. Thousands of people gathered on National Highway-5 for about a quarter of an hour, while other gods and goddesses coming to the fair also remained behind Sholi Devta. No god expressed his consent to come forward from here. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, DSP Rampur Naresh Sharma also reached the spot.

If we look at the history, the Dev Palthan Sholi along with the deities reach the Phag fair of Rampur every third and fifth year. According to the law of the deity, firing is done at various places where the deity passes. After the firing the gods move forward. Something similar was seen on Tuesday also.
