Both CPS said that if Rajinder Rana had not defeated former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, who was already announced for the post of Chief Minister by the Bharatiya Janata Party, in the 2017 Himachal Assembly elections, Jai Ram Thakur could not have become the Chief Minister in his entire life.

He said that Jairam neither had any correct vision for the development of Himachal nor has Jairam done anything for the people of Himachal during his five-year tenure.
He also said that the former Chief Minister, who talks big about Mandi today, should first tell what he has done for the development of Mandi district.
He said that even today the people of Mandi district have not forgotten that Jairam has developed only the people of Seraj assembly constituency and all the other assemblies of Mandi district were ignored.
