Shimla: Sukhu met Union Minister, demanded to establish State Cancer Institute in Medical College, Hamirpur.
Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been urged to establish State Cancer Institute on priority basis in Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur district under the National Program for Prevention and Control of Serious Diseases like Cancer, Diabetes, CBD and Stroke.
Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu paid a courtesy call on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya in the capital of India, New Delhi on Thursday. During the courtesy call, Honourable Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been urged to establish State Cancer Institute on priority basis in Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College in Hamirpur district under the National Program for Prevention and Control of Serious Diseases like Cancer, Diabetes, CBD and Stroke.
CM Sukhu said that in view of the increasing rate of cancer cases in Himachal Pradesh, it has become most necessary to establish a State Cancer Institute.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has also requested to construct a super specialty block in Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur district under the Prime Minister’s Health Protection Scheme. CM Sukhu informed the Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya that better health facilities are being provided to the people in Himachal Pradesh through community and primary health centers and the Himachal Pradesh government is also providing health infrastructure at the rural level. Efforts are also being made to continuously strengthen in Himachal Pradesh. CM Sukhu said that the Himachal Pradesh government is also continuously working on war footing towards strengthening the super specialty basic health infrastructure.
CM Sukhu has also made a special request to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya to increase the capacity of the Maternal and Child Hospital wing in Dr. Radha Krishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur district from 100 beds to 200 beds.
To provide emergency health services to passengers and tourists from outside states in case of road accidents with timely and immediate effect Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has made a special request to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviy For Approval of four trauma centers in Civil Hospital Ghumarwin and Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College Ner Chowk located on Chandigarh-Manali National Highway as well as Civil Hospital Dharampur and Civil Hospital Palampur located on Parwanoo-Shimla National Highway.
Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has also made a special request to speed up the entire process of providing necessary approval and central funds for establishing three nursing colleges in Chamba, Hamirpur and Sirmour district administration headquarters Nahan.
Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya has given full assurance to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of providing all possible help to Himachal Pradesh from the Narendra Modi government at the Centre. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, Bharat Kheda, Residential Commissioner Meera Mohanty and Principal Private Secretary to Chief Minister Sukhu, Vivek Bhatia were also present in the meeting along with CM Sukhu.
