After the heavy devastation caused by floods in Rampur 17 days ago, floods have once again wreaked havoc in this area. An incident of cloud burst has come to light in Rampur subdivision. The flood caused by cloud burst in Taklech of Rampur last night has scared the people. People left their homes at night to save their lives.

The incident of cloud burst has taken place in Damrali under Taklech Panchayat of Rampur. Due to this, the drain here got flooded and many houses came under threat. About 30 meters of the road was washed away in the flood, due to which the transport facility in the area has come to a standstill. Shimla Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap and Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi reached Nogali late at night and took stock of the situation. Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap said that there has been no loss of life or property due to this incident so far. The district administration is fully prepared to deal with every situation.

He said that heavy rains occurred in Damrali and Taklech late in the evening. Due to which a cloud burst in Damrali, the upper part of Taklech, and a heavy flood of water came into the adjacent drain. When this flood came, the residents of Taklech clearly heard the rumbling of this drain. People came out of their houses. Due to this, electricity supply was also disrupted. The mobile tower located in Damrali also stopped working. Due to this, the mobile signal of six panchayats here has been affected.

Rampur SDM Nishant Tomar said that the rescue team has not been able to reach the spot because the road has broken at one place. But the local Panchayat Pradhan was talked to over the phone and he has denied any information about loss of life.

Meanwhile, due to heavy rainfall, many roads in the state have been closed and power supply has been disrupted due to large number of transformers getting shut down. According to the State Emergency Operations Center, two national highways and 132 roads are closed across the state due to landslides. NH 707 in Sirmaur district and NH-5 in Nigulsari of Kinnaur district are blocked. Apart from this, many areas have plunged into darkness due to 1235 transformers getting shut down. 351 transformers in Mandi district, 309 in Kullu, 290 in Una and 212 in Hamirpur have failed.

According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, Naina Devi in ​​Bilaspur district has received the highest rainfall of 110 mm. Apart from this, 80 mm rainfall has been recorded in Hamirpur, 70-70 in Una and Gohar, 68 in Palampur and 48 mm in Bagi.

The weather department has warned of heavy rains in the next 24 hours in Lahaul Spiti, Chamba, Hamirpur, Una, Kullu and Kangra districts. Flash flood warning has been issued in 5 districts Chamba, Kangra, Mandi, Shimla and Sirmaur till Sunday. According to the department, there will be a yellow alert of heavy rains in the plains and mid-mountain areas of the state till August 23.
