For the convenience of the people of the state, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has instructed all administrative secretaries, department heads and deputy commissioners to adopt the e-office system.

The Chief Minister was speaking on the occasion of giving approval to the first e-file of the Information and Technology Department in Shimla. This e office application has been developed by the National Informatics Center.

The Chief Minister said that in this year’s budget, a separate target has been set to start the e-office application in all the order field offices of the State Secretariat by July 1.

He said that the state government is working with the aim of using modern technology in the government sector to bring transparency in the system of all government departments and to make it effective.

He said that the digital technology of the state will pave the way for adopting e-office system in all the departments. The Chief Minister stressed the need to reduce paper dependence, save time and money, and adopt e-office for effective functioning.

Through this system, safe availability of documents will be ensured and officers will also get convenience in working. The Chief Minister said that this office system would simplify administrative procedures by reducing the digitalization of documents and paperwork.
