Last season champions Gujarat Titans are set to take on four-time winners Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is their home round.

In this season, there are some changes, this time the tournament will be played across 12 venues in India – Delhi, Mohali, Lucknow, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Jaipur, Guwahati also known as Rajasthan Royals’ second home ground), and Dharamsala (Punjab Kings’ second home ground). – and 70 league matches were played, including 18 doubleheaders. This season all teams will play seven home matches and 7 away matches during their league campaign.
This will also be the first time in the history of IPL that the league will be played across all the traditional venues in India. In 2020, the tournament was postponed from March to the month of September-November due to Covid and was staged in the UAE. In the next year, following a bio-bubble breach during the tournament, the second half of the League was played in the UAE under the BCCI and the UAE guidelines. And in 2022, the tournament venues are reduced to just two – Mumbai and Pune – while the playoffs were held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.
The final league match will be played on May 21, 2023, and the IPL 2023 final will be held on May 28.
