Chamba News : 125 deodar and kail wood seized illegally in Chamba
Chamba News : The forest department has seized one hundred and twenty five logs of deodar and kail being illegally transported on the Saluni-Dunun link road in Chamba district.
Confirming the incident, Sushil Guleria, DFO, Saloni said that on the basis of secret information, the Forest Department team seized the wood by placing a blockade.
He said that the driver could not show any document related to carrying this wood, further action is going on in the matter.
He told – We had received a secret information that a vehicle was being carried illegally at this time, when we received this information, I gave orders to my subordinate staff and we had put a blockade at a place called Eddie.
When we stopped the vehicle at a place called Eddy, we found wooden planks and some links in it, which were of Deodar and Cal species. When we asked the driver to show his valid documents, he did not have any valid documents with him. The pass was not presented.
Later on we have taken possession of the wood and the cart and also have given seven days time to the driver to produce his valid documents in this office.Otherwise confiscation of the cart under section 51 and 52 of the Indian Forest Rules Will go and advance action will also be taken.
