Assembly Membership of 6 MLAs in Himachal Suspended
Shimla, February 29: For the first time in the history of Himachal, the ruling political party has disqualified its 6 members from the membership of the Legislative Assembly. Therefore, the way has been paved for by-elections in 6 assembly constituencies of the state. Speaking to reporters on Thursday morning, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Singh Pathania said that the membership of 6 MLAs has been canceled for violating the whip. He said that orders have been issued after hearing the arguments of both the parties. Let us tell you that such an incident has not happened before in the political history of Himachal.

Congress observers, former Haryana CM Bhupendra Singh Hooda, Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivkumar and former CM Bhupesh Baghel had also reached Shimla, they met Congress ministers and MLAs separately. Congress appeared united in canceling the membership of 6 rebel MLAs, even Vikramaditya Singh had withdrawn his resignation by the evening.
On the threshold of Lok Sabha elections, Congress has given strong signals regarding party discipline by showing the way out to 6 MLAs.
It also remains to be seen whether BJP will be able to give tickets to the Congress rebels in the by-elections or not, because BJP will also have to face the challenge of those leaders by defeating whom the Congress rebels had reached the Assembly.

Rajinder Rana, who was in BJP, was a disciple of former CM and Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal. There was a time when Rana used to handle the responsibility of election management of Dhumal. But, swords crossed between the Guru and the disciple. After winning the elections, the ambition must have been to be made a cabinet minister. Now the question arises whether BJP will give him ticket after the cancellation of membership. Because Rana had given such wounds to BJP in the 2017 assembly elections due to which BJP lost the post of CM.
Sudhir Sharma
After the formation of the government, it was almost certain that Sudhir Sharma, who was in the good books of six-time Chief Minister late Virbhadra Singh, would become a minister. But when he did not get the post of minister, many times he was seen making statements against his own government. Seeing the possibility of defeat in the by-election, Sudhir has refused to contest the election.
ID Lakhanpal
ID Lakhanpal, who scored a hat-trick of victories in the 2022 elections, is recognized in the Congress because he kept winning elections from the BJP stronghold. In such a situation, his rebellious tone is surprising everyone. Certainly, ID Lakhanpal will also be disappointed by not getting an important position despite winning the elections for the third time.
Chaitanya Sharma
Chaitanya Sharma, the youngest MLA of Himachal Assembly, is the son of former Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand Rakesh Sharma. Highly educated Chaitanya Sharma had contested elections for the first time and after winning, he also reached the assembly. The reason behind Chaitanya Sharma adopting a rebellious tone is being said to be neglect and slow pace of development works in his constituency.

Experts also say that Chaitanya Sharma wanted to contest the elections at any cost, hence if BJP had given him a ticket in the elections, he could have contested the elections on BJP ticket also. At the same time, lack of experience and maturity in politics is also being considered as the reason for his adopting a rebellious tone against the party.
Ravi Thakur
Ravi Thakur, who has been MLA from Lahaul Spiti twice, has also adopted a rebellious tone. The biggest reason for this is believed to be that he was not given the post of Tribal Minister. On this matter, Kinnaur MLA and senior leader Jagat Singh Negi was crowned. But when his demands were not met, he was also seen speaking against the government.
Devendra Kumar Bhutto
Everyone is surprised by the rebellious tone of Devendra Kumar Bhutto, who has handed over Kutlahar assembly constituency to Congress after 32 years. However, he left BJP and joined Congress in 2017. The biggest reason for his rebellion is believed to be his closeness to BJP. Before joining Congress, he had been in BJP for 25 years.
