Asian Rafting Championship is going to be organized for the first time in Pandoa of Sunni tehsil of Shimla district. The Asian Rafting Championship competition is going to be held from 3rd to 9th March.

All Preparations are in full swing for organizing the Asian Rafting Championship competition. Men’s, women’s, mixed and para rafting competitions are going to be held in the Asian Rafting Championship competition. Shimla District Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap has held a meeting on Friday regarding the organization of Asian Rafting Championship. For the successful organization of the international competition, the Deputy Commissioner has given necessary directions to all the officers for joint inspection of the venue, making toilets, drinking water, health facilities in case of emergency, cleanliness arrangements and smooth traffic. The organizers of the Asian Rafting Championship competition were involved in the meeting through virtual medium. The Deputy Commissioner told the organizer that for the first time in India, a river rafting competition is going to be organized on such a large scale.

About 20 teams from the world are going to participate in the Asian Rafting Championship competition. Officials have been instructed to form different committees for the successful organization of the Asian Rafting Championship competition. By organizing the Asian Rafting Championship competition, the adventure sports tourist places of Shimla district will ensure their place on the international stage. The gross domestic product of the state will also increase. Shimla District Tourism Development Officer Sanjay Bhagwati, ADM (Law and Order) Ajit Bhardwaj, SDM (Rural) Kavita Thakur, District Sports Officer Rakesh Dhauta and District Language Officer Anil Harta were present in the meeting.
