Nurpur Police Station has emerged as the top-performing police station in Himachal Pradesh in the use of the Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS), marking a major achievement in the field of digital policing and criminal investigation. The latest rankings released by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) at the state police headquarters highlighted Nurpur’s exceptional performance during the first quarter of the year from January to March.

According to the report, Nurpur Police Station secured the first position among the top 20 police stations across the state for the effective use of ICJS and speedy digital investigation processes. The achievement reflects the growing focus on technology-driven policing and efficient handling of criminal justice systems in the region.

What makes the achievement even more significant is that six police stations from the Nurpur police district — Nurpur, Indora, Rehan, Jawali, Damtal, and Fatehpur — featured among the state’s top-performing police stations. This strong presence underlines the district’s consistent efforts toward improving digital law enforcement and maintaining accurate criminal data records.

In the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) rankings, Nurpur police district secured the second position in Himachal Pradesh, just behind Shimla district. Nurpur earned 41.15 ranking points, narrowly trailing Shimla, which secured 41.12 points.

Officials attributed this success to timely data entry, efficient coordination by the technical team, and the professional use of modern applications such as e-evidence and e-summons under the newly implemented criminal laws. The district has been actively focusing on strengthening digital infrastructure to improve investigation quality and public service delivery.

Meanwhile, Hamirpur police district was ranked 15th with 34.73 points, while Sangla police station in Kinnaur district stood at the bottom of the rankings among the top 20 police stations listed.

Speaking on the achievement, Nurpur Superintendent of Police Kulbhushan Verma praised the dedication and hard work of police personnel and the district’s CCTNS team. He stated that the district police would continue serving the public with the same commitment, professionalism, and efficiency in the future as well.

The recognition is being seen as a significant milestone for Nurpur police district and highlights the increasing importance of digital transformation in modern policing across Himachal Pradesh.
