Built at an estimated cost of ₹6.5 crore, the modern judicial facility is expected to significantly improve access to justice for residents of the region while also helping speed up legal proceedings.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Chief Justice Sandhawalia described the occasion as a “moment of pride” for Karsog. He also highlighted the town’s rich cultural and religious heritage, noting its association with iconic temples such as Mamleshwar Mahadev Temple and Shikari Devi Temple.
Reflecting on the region’s judicial journey, he pointed out that legal services in Karsog began with the establishment of a Civil Judge Court in 1994, followed by the introduction of an Additional Sessions Judge Court in 1999. “With this new, well-equipped complex, the people of Karsog will now have improved access to legal services, and the efficiency of judicial processes will increase,” he said.
The newly inaugurated court complex has been designed to meet modern judicial needs. It houses two fully equipped courtrooms, staff rooms, a dedicated record room (malkhana), and other essential facilities. The building is also fitted with CCTV surveillance systems and modern infrastructure to ensure safety, transparency, and smooth functioning.
The event witnessed the presence of several prominent dignitaries and officials. Among them were Ajay Mohan Goel, guardian judge for the Civil and Sessions Division Mandi, and Bhupesh Sharma. Apoorv Devgan, Deputy Commissioner of Mandi, felicitated the Chief Justice and other guests with traditional Himachali shawls, caps, and mementos.
Members of the Karsog Bar Association, including President R.R. Negi, General Secretary Sapinder Singh, and senior advocate Purn Chand Kapoor, also extended their warm welcome and honored the dignitaries during the ceremony.
Other officials present included District and Sessions Judge Paras Dogra, Chief Judicial Magistrate Aman Sood, Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar, SDM Karsog Gaurav Mahajan, and DSP Chand Kishore, along with several judicial officers, lawyers, and local citizens.
The inauguration of this state-of-the-art court complex marks an important milestone in improving legal infrastructure in rural areas and reflects the judiciary’s continued commitment to ensuring accessible and efficient justice for all.
