Himachal Pradesh High Court Transfers 61 Judicial Officers in Major Reshuffle, New Postings by April 16

In a significant administrative overhaul, the Himachal Pradesh High Court has ordered the transfer and posting of 61 judicial officers across the state, triggering a major reshuffle within the judiciary.

The notification, issued late Tuesday evening, directs all concerned officers to assume charge of their new postings on or before April 16, signaling an effort to streamline judicial functioning and administrative efficiency.

Key Highlights of the Transfers

The reshuffle spans multiple ranks, including District Judges, Additional District Judges, Senior Civil Judges, and Civil Judges, impacting courts across Himachal Pradesh.

One of the most notable changes includes Anuja Sood, who has been appointed as the District and Sessions Judge of Chamba. She replaces Preeti Thakur, whose services have now been placed at the disposal of the state government for a new assignment as Presiding Officer of the Labour Court-cum-Industrial Tribunal in Shimla.

In another key move, Vikrant Kaundal, currently serving as Senior Civil Judge-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in Kullu, has been deputed to the state government and is likely to serve as Additional Secretary in the HP State Legal Services Authority (SLSA), Shimla. He will be succeeded by Manisha Goyal, who shifts from Lahaul and Spiti to Kullu.

Major District-Level Changes

Several important district-level transfers have also been announced:

  • Niranjan Singh moves to Lahaul and Spiti as Senior Civil Judge-cum-CJM
  • Prashant Singh Negi appointed Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Solan
  • Vishal Kaundal posted to Barsar (Hamirpur)
  • Shikha Lakhanpal shifted to Una as DLSA Secretary
  • Pratibha Negi transferred to Shimla
  • Anita Sharma posted to Kangra
  • Jitender Kumar moved to Amb

Further Administrative Restructuring

The reshuffle also includes several strategic postings in legal services authorities:

  • Abha Chauhan posted to Nalagarh (Solan)
  • Ajay Kumar transferred to Kinnaur (Reckong Peo)
  • Akanksha Dogra moved to Shimla
  • Sonal Sharma posted to Dharamsala
  • R. Mihul Sharma appointed DLSA Secretary in Kangra
  • Ekansh Kapil posted to Chamba

Additionally, Vishal Tiwari has been appointed as Secretary, DLSA Kullu, while Deepika Negi has been transferred to Jogindernagar as Civil Judge-cum-JMFC.
