The Accuracy Paragliding Pre-World Cup started today at Bir Billing Valley in Baijnath, Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, which was inaugurated by Raghubir Singh Bali, Vice President of State Tourism Development Corporation. Raghubir Singh Bali started the competition by flagging off.

103 paragliding pilots will participate
132 pilots from India and abroad have registered in the competition, out of which about 103 pilots will participate in the competition. Pilots have to land on a specially made sphere, after which those pilots are given numbers by the judging committee according to their landing in the sphere, after which first, second and third places are given.

Pilots from these countries participated
Pilots from India, Nepal, Kazakhstan, Spain, Sri Lanka are participating in the competition. Pilots from Malaysia had also shown interest in participating in the competition, but due to paucity of time their visas were not granted, due to which they could not come to participate. Along with this, due to the war in Russia, Russian pilots also could not participate in the competition.

MLA Bali said that if the criteria are fulfilled then the World Cup will be organized here in the month of October. He said that the tourism department has given Rs 25 lakh for this competition. Along with this, an amount of Rs 1.5 crore has been approved for Kheer Ganga Ghat.

There will be a circle of 10 meters
Vijay Soni, playing the role of supervisor, told that a 10 meter circle has been made in the landing site, inside which different types of circles have been made. The landing in the 15 cm sphere will be analyzed through instruments.

Complete arrangements have been made for the safety of the pilots during the competition. Helicopters will be on standby at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mountaineering Institute Manali and Uttarakhand to deal with emergencies. Army’s helicopter will remain at Palampur from the point of view of security. The Bir-Billing valley will remain a no-flying zone during the competition.
Cultural programs will also be organized
At the same time, cultural programs will also be organized at the landing site from April 6 evening to April 9 evening, in which local artists will give presentations. The police band Harmony of the Pines has been called in for the finale.

Chief Minister Sukhu will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony on April 9. Association President Sudhir Sharma will attend the closing ceremony. CPS Kishori Lal will also be present.
