Shimla News : 23-Year-Old Food Delivery Worker Found Dead in Shimla; Police Suspect Suicide
A 23-year-old food delivery worker was found dead in Shimla in a suspected suicide case. Police have registered a case and are investigating; family reports mental stress.
A 23-year-old man working as a food delivery driver was found dead in Shimla on Tuesday under circumstances that police believe point to suicide. The incident came to light after he was rushed to Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, where doctors declared him brought dead.
The deceased has been identified as Aman Unnao, son of Virendra Unnao, a native of Jharkhand. He had been living with his parents and younger brother near Komali Bank area in Shimla.
According to the police, Aman was reportedly under mental stress for the past few days. On the morning of the incident, while his parents were away, his younger brother noticed that Aman was unwell and had locked himself inside his room. When the family returned and did not receive any response, neighbours were alerted and the room was forcibly opened.
Aman was immediately taken to IGMC in an unconscious condition, where he was declared dead.
Police officials said that an external examination was conducted at the IGMC mortuary, and statements of family members have been recorded. No suspicion has been raised against any individual by the family. The post-mortem examination has been completed, viscera samples preserved, and the body was later handed over to the family for last rites.
A case has been registered at the Baluganj police station under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNSS), and further investigation is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
Police reiterated that the matter appears to be linked to psychological distress, though all aspects are being examined.
