IGMC Shimla News : IGMC Shimla Suspends Two Trainee Doctors Over Ragging Allegations in Hostel
IGMC Shimla has suspended two trainee doctors for three months following allegations of ragging and violation of hostel rules involving first-year students.
Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC), Shimla, has suspended two trainee doctors for allegedly ragging first-year students inside the college hostel premises, in violation of institutional rules.
According to official sources, the incident took place a few days ago when the trainee doctors took newly admitted students into the hostel, even though the first-year students had not been officially allotted accommodation there. The students reportedly remained inside the hostel for a short period before the matter came to the notice of hostel authorities.
The authorities immediately informed the college’s Disciplinary Committee, which initiated an inquiry into the incident. IGMC rules strictly prohibit the entry of students into hostel premises unless rooms have been formally allotted.
After examining the case, the Disciplinary Committee concluded that while the incident did not amount to severe ragging, it constituted misconduct and a violation of hostel regulations. Consequently, the committee recommended disciplinary action against the two trainee doctors.
Acting on the committee’s findings, the IGMC administration has suspended both trainee doctors for a period of three months. The disciplinary order will remain in force during this period, officials said.
