Over 550 Roads Still Blocked in Himachal; Orange Alert Issued for Six Districts Today

Due to heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh, 566 roads across the state—including two national highways—remain blocked, while nearly 525 transformers have been disrupted, severely affecting connectivity and power supply in several regions.
According to the State Emergency Operations Centre, around 203 roads are closed in Mandi, 156 in Kullu (including NH-03), 50 in Shimla, 46 in Kangra, 26 in Chamba, 24 each in Bilaspur and Sirmaur, 16 in Solan, 13 in Una (including NH-503A), six in Hamirpur, and two in Kinnaur.
Of the 525 transformers affected, 327 are in Mandi, 78 in Sirmaur, 34 in Hamirpur, 25 in Shimla, 23 in Kullu, 21 in Chamba, 16 in Kinnaur, and one in Kangra. This has led to widespread power outages across many areas.
Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in Shimla, Kullu, Mandi, Solan, Bilaspur, and Sirmaur districts today.
