Solan, May 8 – Tensions flared in the Kandaghat area of Himachal Pradesh’s Solan district after a local woman allegedly posted content on Facebook in support of Pakistan. The incident sparked widespread anger among residents, particularly local youth, who deemed the posts anti-national and filed a complaint with the Kandaghat police.

According to reports, the woman, believed to be from a particular community, shared multiple controversial posts on her Facebook profile expressing support for Pakistan. Taking swift action, the police summoned both the woman and her husband for questioning and have launched an investigation into her social media activity.

The situation escalated as a large group of agitated locals gathered outside the Kandaghat police station in protest. Demonstrators raised slogans such as “Pakistan Murdabad” and “Shoot the traitors of the nation”, and symbolically trampled on a representation of the Pakistani flag. The protesters demanded strict action against those involved in any form of anti-national activity.

Local youth groups and residents have also announced a protest march scheduled for 5 PM this evening in Kandaghat Bazaar to register their opposition publicly and call for stronger measures to prevent such incidents in the future.

Solan SP Gaurav Singh confirmed that the matter is under serious investigation and assured that no leniency would be shown. “If any seditious activity is confirmed, appropriate legal action will be taken,” he stated, adding that police presence in the area has been increased as a precautionary measure.
